The MOT Manager Training will develop the skills to manage a VTS

Premier MOT’s Award in MOT Test Centre Management, has been developed with DVSA/VOSA to give learners the knowledge and skills required to manage MOT Vehicle Test Stations.

This Award will not expire, and holders will be considered professionally competent for their life time.


Course Overview

The MOT Manager Training qualification will teach you how to:

  • Manage the legislative and compliance knowledge required to manage an MOT Test Centre
  • Effectively encourage improvements in customer service
  • Develop and supervise staff within a Testing Centre
  • Understand the Centre quality systems and audits

The MOT Manager Training qualification is primarily developed for learners who wish to run an MOT Vehicle Test Station (VTS), or who will have direct responsibility for MOT operations at the VTS in the future.

Premier MOT will run the MOT Manager Training qualification over 3 days’ face to face teaching and a pre course study element online.

Entry requirements

The MOT Manager Training qualification will be of interest to those individuals wishing to set up an MOT testing Station, or who may already be a MOT Tester and wish to advance their career further.

There are no formal entry requirements for the MOT Manager Training qualification.

Successful completion of the Award in MOT Centre Management will give you a valuable academic qualification recognised by the DVSA that demonstrates your skill. It will teach you what you need to know in order to successfully run and manage an MOT station day to day, as well as fully understand the DVSA legislative and compliance requirements.

The content of this qualification has been designed to reflect the contents of the National Occupational Standards for MOT Managers.

  • Dealing with customer service problems and complaints
